Charlotte, NC Chapter

Charlotte, NC - January 5, 2010 - Morganton-based entertainer Bert Lindsay has been chosen to serve as 2010 President for the Charlotte, NC chapter of the American Disc Jockey Association.

Lindsay brings experience to the post
The 45-year-old Lindsay has spent most of his adult life as an entertainer. In Spring 1984, he began an 18+ year career in broadcasting at various local radio stations, including stints at WUIV, Icard; WMNC AM & FM, Morganton; WSVM, Valdese; WCIS, Morganton; WKGX, Lenoir; WHKY, Hickory; WKVS, Lenoir.

Lindsay entered the Mobile DJ realm in Fall 1984 when he formed Magical Music. He operated the business as a part-time venture until November 2000, when he left broadcasting to concentrate on full-time Mobile Entertaining.

Outgoing President and Founder of the ADJA Charlotte, NC chapter Brian Hines says: "Bert has a passion for the DJ Industry that you can see just by meeting him one time. I met Bert about a year ago at one of the ADJA (American Disc Jockey Association) meetings. Over the course of this past year, I have been able to get to know Bert on a personal level and he is truly dedicated to our line of work. He puts his clients first and strives for excellence. He also enjoys helping other DJs in the area and I knew that his motivation in doing so was a great sign for me to nominate him as the next president of our Charlotte NC ADJA Chapter. As the founder and former president of the chapter I know that Bert will take over my responsibilities and do an awesome job leading the chapter to future successes!"

Other DJs serving on the board for 2010 include Vice-President Steven Dail from Out of This World Entertainment of Snow Hill, NC; Member-At-Large Larry M. Martin of A & A Disc Jockey Service of Greensboro, NC; and, interim Membership Director Jim Cook of DJ Express Mobile Entertainment of Charlotte, NC.

A Short, but Impressive History
In less than 2 years, the Charlotte, NC Chapter of the ADJA has chalked up some impressive accomplishments.

· In July 2009, the Charlotte NC ADJA Chapter had an awesome presence at the National Association of Catering Exectutives (NACE) Experience 2009 Conference held at the Charlotte Westin. In addition to facilitating the NACE seminars, the ADJA was responsible for the closing gala entertainment. It was the first time NACE had opted to use a DJ entertainer as opposed to a live band.

· The following month, Charlotte was part of the national Mobile Beat Magazine Tour. The tour featured industry professionals speaking on DJ-related business issues, new products and educational materials for mobile entertainers. The Charlotte stop was one of a series of scaled-down previews of the annual conference, being held February 7 - 11, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV.

Jake Feldman from Mobile Beat said "The Charlotte, NC ADJA Chapter was The Grand Champion among all the chapters....in terms of being on top of everything and getting the word out."

Charlotte had one of the largest turnouts for the entire Mobile Beat nationwide tour with over 100 attendees.

· The Charlotte Chapter ADJA was chosen to host the entertainment for the National Resort and Commericial Recreation Association Conference in November at Kiawah Island Golf Resort Kiawah Island, SC. Charlotte Chapter member Steven Dail handled the entertainment festivities.

In addition, Charlotte Chapter members were treated to a variety of presentations from regional, national and international speakers. Each month, members learned from a variety of topics, such as how to operate a more efficient office, presenting more dynamic performances or improving marketing towards those needing entertainment. Those attending also learned about new products, services and trends in the mobile entertainment industry.
